I have experience producing documentary films, writing feature articles, and packaging radio & TV pieces. I am currently based in Bogotá, Colombia, working as a freelance multimedia journalist. Here is one of my recent pieces on Venezuelans crossing the border into Colombia seeking emergency medical treatment, and the impact this is having on the Colombian public health system.

I can report in English, Spanish and French.

In 2015, following dreams of being a full-time storyteller, I moved to India to co-direct a documentary about an orphanage outside the city of Hyderabad. After that I served as the managing editor at Innovations | Stories, an online publication sharing the stories of social innovators all over the Global South. While at Innovations | Stories I designed and spearheaded a multimedia editorial strategy which allowed for more diverse content (a heavier focus on photo and video stories). As managing editor I supported video and photo freelance contributors from all over the world and designed storytelling trainings for social innovators to tell their own stories.

I have an MA in International Journalism from City, University of London, and a B.S. in Community and Regional Development with a minor in Video and Photography from UC Davis.

From 2010-2015 I directed a global education program called One World Youth Project (OWYP), At OWYP I trained university students around the world to be volunteer teachers in local primary school classrooms. I also designed the curriculum that the university students taught to the youngsters. The program aimed to teach the students at both age levels about cross-cultural communication by sending video, photo and written messages to their partner classrooms abroad. We also taught the youngsters to design and implement improvement projects in their own schools and neighborhoods. I taught online and in-person trainings for the university student leaders, for which I produced many videos that we used as learning tools.

While serving as program director at OWYP I had the privilege of traveling all over the globe. My work meeting so many incredible young people is what inspired me to pursue journalism. Engaging stories are the best form of education anyway.
